A
20-year-old woman has become the first person to die from Saturday night's blaze at a water park in Taiwan,
reported Xinhua on Monday.
Ms Li
Pei-yun sustained second-degree and third degree burns to 90 per cent of her
body, according to Zhongshan Medical University Hospital in Taichung City.
Over 500
people were injured, more than 200 seriously hurt, after a ball of fire ripped
through a crowd of partygoers who were attending the Color Play Asia event.
The cause
of the fire is not known but the inferno is said to have happened after
coloured powder being sprayed onto partygoers ignited.
Taiwan
announced an island-wide ban on flammable coloured powder events
in the aftermath of the tragic incident.
