Taiwan Water Park Fire

A 20-year-old woman has become the first person to die from Saturday night's blaze at a water park in Taiwan, reported Xinhua on Monday.

Ms Li Pei-yun sustained second-degree and third degree burns to 90 per cent of her body, according to Zhongshan Medical University Hospital in Taichung City.

Over 500 people were injured, more than 200 seriously hurt, after a ball of fire ripped through a crowd of partygoers who were attending the Color Play Asia event.

The cause of the fire is not known but the inferno is said to have happened after coloured powder being sprayed onto partygoers ignited.

Taiwan announced an island-wide ban on flammable coloured powder events in the aftermath of the tragic incident.

Gossip Society: How Love Turns Ugly

Ms Sunny Kim

Beautiful and young Ms Sunny Kim was allegedly murdered by her ex-boyfriend shortly after their breakup. She was teaching in Korea at the time.

On May 2, the 25-year old was murdered by her boyfriend, identified as 26-year old Mr Lee. Ms Kim was strangled to her death in an apartment after their breakup.

Mr Lee brought her body to a forest at a nearby hill to hide the evidence. He placed her into a luggage bag.

His following actions to avoid suspicion are freaky. He used Ms Kim's phone and impersonated her to post on social media to speak with her friends and relatives over a period of two weeks.

It was only when Ms Kim did not go to work at her new job did people started to suspect something was wrong.

Ms Kim was originally a student at the University of Albany in New York and graduated in 2011 as an Economics and East Asian Studies major. She began dating Mr Lee after moving to Korea to pursue her teaching career.

On the day of the murder, Ms Kim had just signed a contract for a new job. When her new boss tried to contact her, Mr Lee used her phone to reply yo him saying: "Don't contact me. I am going back to the United States to study."

Feeling under pressure, Mr Lee tried to back himself up, saying the guilt pushed him to want to commit suicide. However, Ms Kim's family is not convinced by his words and speculates that he wants to lessen his punishment by saying so.

Investigations shows that Ms Kim was abused first before being murdered by Mr Lee. After finding her body, officers identified signs of broken bones and bruises on her face.
